Manchester Central Awards Evening

Working for a client of many years, MCL implemented and designed a stunning awards evening complete with a performance by X-Factors Rhydian Roberts, and conference session, both for over 1000 delegates. Held in the cavernous Central Hall and the equally spacious Exchange Hall at Manchester Central, the photos of the event fail to come close to conveying the atmosphere and buzz of the spectacular evening show. Utilising MCL’s modular low resolution video product, Versa TUBE, MCL designed and constructed a centre piece for the huge bespoke circular stage set. The whole thing was completed with a complex lighting rig, that any pop star would be proud to call their own, and two enormous screens to ensure that everyone had a great view of the stage. The lighting rig included twenty Robe 575 on the truss uprights around the stage, twenty four Robe 1200 spot and wash lights on the circles over the stage, and twenty Robe 250 mounted on a V-truss over the audience. Four 3k falcon moonflowers were positioned along the floor under the screens. The conference was a much more modest affair by comparison but still boasted a huge 7 metre Widescreen.
